BUBBLE WRAP PARTY + SWATCHES!
Of course, during the exam study break, you'd do anything and everything but study.
I was randomly blogshop-hopping and came across this Singapore based website that sells cosmetics at a good price. And they had products that are not available in Singapore. So I went a bit cray and in about half an hour, my shopping cart was already flooded. But I am on a shopping diet and managed to cut down on my shopping *pats back*
The entire shopping process was quite fast since I got free registered postage (I spent over $100). I placed my orders and made payment on Thursday and received my package the following Tuesday.
I was hoping that the products would come in a box because, duh, safer than an envelope...
...but everything was wrapped in super thick layers of bubble wrap so yay nothing got damaged. And the best part of every parcel is BUBBLE WRAPPPPPPPP!!!!!!!! BUBBLE WRAP PARTY!!!!!!!
Note:
1. Different products swatch differently on different skin tones and skin types so yeah
2. Non-flash photos on the left, flash photos on the right
ELF Studio Baked Blush in Rich Rose, $8
Super duper pretty rose gold colour! Great pigmentation and blendability but a bit too shimmery for me. I haven't tried it on my face yet but I doubt that any colour would show because of my skin tone. I might end up using this as a highlighter. Also read that it can be used as an eyeshadow so I might try that out.
Overall, very value-for-money.
Jordana 12hr Made To Last Liquid Eyeliner Pencil in Espresso Last, $8.90
I was desperate for a new brown eyeliner because I'm running out so I got this. This is a very smooth eyeliner. Comes off super smooth, great colour and the best part...... TOTALLY SMUDGE-PROOF. That's some magical shiz right there. About less than a minute after drawing the smiley on my hand, I tried to rub it and oh-wow-I-almost-cried. Not a single bit of eyeliner budged at all.
This was freaking god-sent. I can see a ray of light shining down on me and this eyeliner.
I foresee this taking over my Sephora Retractable Waterproof Eyeliner pencil..
But but but but but but, it's not a retractable eyeliner. WHY
MUA Brush On Concealer Pen in Light, $6.50
This product was a complete mess. Or maybe mine was defective. Sigh.
It is a typical retractable concealer pen with a super soft brush tip, which i was super excited about. It usually takes a few twists of the pen before any product comes out but this took me forever. I was twisting my pen throughout an entire song and guess what came out. A rabbit-poop-looking piece of concealer. And whatever product that came out after that looked the same.
So I picked up the "rabbit poop" to swatch on my hand and wow wow that's some thick and unspreadable (yes I made that up) shiz right there. I had to tug on my skin like cray to spread out the product but I eventually did it yay!
Despite getting the shade Light, the product was too dark for me. Quite orange under natural light and looks okay in flash. But it seems to give great coverage urgh so heartbroken. I would suggest that you get this product in a million shades lighter than your skin tone.
Overall I was super sad that this product was a disaster. I looked online and it's supposed to be a perfectly normal liquid pen concealer urghhhhh I would have loved this )':
MUA Lip Tio in Scarlet, $9.90
I bought this because I thought the packaging was super cute. And I get 3 lip colours for about $10. So this product turns out to be a tinted lip balm. And for a tinted lip balm, I think the colour payoff is good! It's somewhat like a sheer lip stick. The finish is very similar to a lipgloss! Very smooth application and definitely felt very balmy. This product is basically a lip balm with a tint sheer-lipstick and lipgloss finish.
1: Rosy-pink colour
2: Very light frosty-pink
3: Peachy-pink, but more orangey under flash
Not a fan of the second colour because it'd make me look sick. I've not tried the products on my lips yet, super excited for that.
NYX Round Lip Gloss in Vamp
I honestly don't remember buying this but if it's a free gift then yay thank you!
I was expecting a very deep vampire red, because of the name, and I somewhat got that. It's more of a deep berry colour. More like period stains, but glossier version. To add on, this product smells straight-up soapy HAHAH Bad combo of descriptions.
This is a very this lipgloss with VERY GOOD colour payoff. I really love its glossy finish. This would be a very good buy since it prolly costs less than $10.
NYX Jumbo Eye Pencils, $6.50 each.
Left to right: Rust, Pots and Pans, Oyster
I already own a jumbo eye pencil in Cottage Cheese and I love it. These pencils are super creamy and blendable and the pigmentation is good stuff. I like to use them under my eyeshadow to make the colours stand out more. I'm planning to use Oyster with my Naked3 palette. It would be a perfect match. Pots and Pans would be great for enhancing the classic black-white smokey eye. I'm not sure what to do with Rust, though. Might try to use it as an eyeliner, maybe.
Super good quality product for a super good price. And I know I didn't have to buy this online, but the cheapest price you can find for these pencils in stores is $10. Dat shit cray.
NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Antwerp, $10
I've been wanting this product since forever but it retailed at Sephora for $12 and I've always thought that that was too expensive for me.
It is a very very pretty happy-pink colour. Very pigmented. Super smooth application. It is very creamy. Definitely a matte finish. I've not tried this product on my lips yet but I read that these are super moisturizing.
Totally value-for-money and I foresee myself buying more.
Rimmel x Kate Moss Matte Lipstick in 111, $13.50
This is some holy grail lipstick right here. I needed a red colour and got this in desperation, despite it being an orange-toned red. This is a very pigmented product with good staining power. And I love the scent. It is not super creamy but the texture is "soft" enough for me to apply without having to tug on my lips.
I really really love this lipstick. If you're looking for a cheap lipstick with good pigmentation then say hi to this holy grail lipstick. Super sad that there are no Rimmel products in Singapore sigh.
Urban Decay Stardust in Atmosphere, $14.90
I don't remember seeing this anywhere but look at that cute packaging!!! I like how the cover springs open when you squeeze the sides of the casing.
I love the pretty-turquoise-green colour. UD eyeshadows have always been super pigmented and this is no different. The product does feel slightly grainy because of the glitter, but it wasn't too bad. It also did seem like there was going to be potential fallout. Even on the casing itself, when I first opened it, there were already a few specks of glitter. Need to try this on a primer soon.
Super pretty colourrrrrrrrr
I was super excited for these. I've always seen Wet n Wild palettes in Youtube videos and have always wanted to get my hands on one. Finally. I don't understand why Singapore doesn't have these things.
I love the simple packaging and its completely sheer glass cover. Very pretty. I like that it comes with a mini sponge applicator and a mini "blending" brush thingy. Good for emergencies where you're too lazy to clean your eyeshadow brushes.
Wet n Wild Eyeshadow Trio in Spoiled Brat, $8.50
These things are super pigmented and creamy. The colour payoff is good, except for the black. It seemed to be slightly sheer. It might look great when foiled though. The hot pink and silver are to die for! I think it'd be weird to use the silver on the browbone since I'm quite tanned. I'll most prolly use it on my waterline or inner corners. Really excited to see how the pink would turn out on my eyelids!
Wet n Wild Eyeshadow Don't Steal My Thunder, $8.50
Again, the black is not fully opaque, but we can work with that. This palette is perfect for the classic black-grey-white smokey eye and if you're on a budget. The grey here seems slightly more deep-silver than the palette above and seems to have a more satin finish too.
Love these palettes. Still don't get why we don't have them in Singapore.
